It snowed today....in October....in Illinois flat land!!!! I am NOT ready for snow. It did not "stick" but the air was full of it. The kids were thrilled. Me, not so much. I made myself feel better by lighting the first fire of the year. The day stayed bright, in spite of the snow, as I had a nice surprise. The grandkids came today because their Aunt (Rachel's sister) changed her visit from today to tomorrow. What does all that mean?? Emerson got her quilt today! She enjoyed sitting up for that pose so much that she stayed that way for a while. Though she was awake most of the day, she did take a snooze while wrapped in her new threads!
It is quite large in comparison to her size. I am glad she has plenty of room to grow into it. It is a little bigger than TJ's quilt. I showed TJ's quilt back when I first started blogging. I thought I would show it again, since there are so many new readers since then.

Not a great pic as it is on the stairs, but you get the idea. I had so much fun working on that quilt. The colors are not my norm, but how could you not have fun with that??? I did better and had it completed well before TJ was 6 weeks old, though he may be about that age in this picture. We really enjoyed the day regardless of the snow flurries and 24 degree temps we are facing tonight. TJ let me "catch" a couple of pics of him.He played with the kids and then "wrestled" with Paw Paw when he came home. Emerson also had some Paw Paw time.I need to scoot...my new favorite show is coming on. Have you seen "17 Kids and Counting" on TLC? I love the Duggar Family and really like their new series.

Hi Bren, how is your precious Charlotte doing? We pray for her daily, and hope each year around this time is They are even explaining it to their cousins. They don't feel they are missing a thing. Anyway, I hope Charlotte is doing okay...
Not sure what happened to my comment...it didn't all appear and it doesn't make sense. Sorry about that! I was just saying that I hope this time of year is getting easier for Charlotte each year. The kids reminded ME of our decision about Halloween, without me having to say a thing. They are even explaining it to their cousins...then you can read the above comment. :)
How funny we actually know a couple of people who know them.(Jason is from NW Arkansas)
Around our parts there is a Storm Watch for Tuesday evening!!! I have to say that I love the first snowfall. I guess that's a good thing considering my native land :):)

I jealous. We have temperatures in the 20s, but no snow.
The thought of a nice fire while it snows sounds inviting, even in October. Emerson looks so sweet in her new quilt.
Oh, me too, on the 17 Kids and Counting. I just love that show! In fact, I'm watching right now as I type this. LOL I like the other Monday night TLC shows, too. It's one night that there is something good on TV!
I just love your quilts! You inspire me so much to get my stuff out and sew! I was so thrilled recently because I found a wonderful quilt kit with all the fabric, buttons and everything at a thrift store for $4.99!! What a thrill. I have it sitting next to my sewing machine and hope to work on it soon. I'll post pictures when I get it done.
Thanks for all the great pictures!
God bless you - Julie
Snow! I am so envious, we are dreaming of a white Christmas yet again this year but it will be hot hot hot!
Love the quilt, it's really beautiful. We're expecting 6 tp 12 inches of the white stuff here tonight and tomorrow!!! It won't last past thursday though, as the temp is warming up. I love the Duggar show! So cute.
Have a great day,
Niki

Emerson looks so beautiful in her new quilt. It is perfect for her. Gotta run...Jak is on the way. I will be keeping him today. Btw, I did not get this posting until today. I wonder what blogger is doing to me. LOL! Have a good Tuesday. =) Karen
Emerson looks happy on her new quilt.
We saw 17 Kids for the first time a couple of nights ago - amazing how they all get around in the bus and I would love to home school them all! I think it is easier to home school with more kids! Right now I'm down to my last one and it is so hard to stay on task!
The quilt looks lovely and sitting by the fire sounds like a good idea! Indiana is cold to!
Emerson's quilt turned out beautiful!! I really like TJ's too!
SNOW!! YIKES! :) Well, we haven't had it here yet, but I know it will be soon! We haven't had much snow in MD over the past few years, this year is suppose to be a good one!! I enjoy snow, always makes me think of hot cocoa and quilting!
AHhhhhhhhhh Emerson is adorable on her quilt! TJ's was a very nice quilt too and fits him! Both are just precious!
I've never seen the Duggar's show, but I've watched them on the Today Show and they are a blessed, beautiful family indeed. Simple things and examples I think a lot of Americans need to follow.
We had a foot of snow yesterday! We were definately not ready for that. I am glad that you all had a good time, tho. :-)
Emerson is too cute in her quilt, and I had never seen TJ's, that was a cute pic of him.

Emerson looks so sweet in her new quilt. I can tell she loves it. Love the bright colors in TJ's quilt. Just right for a growing boy.
Really cute picture at the bottom with the entire clan in a row! I love your baby picture with the sunbonnett quilt...what a darling!
Emerson is as beautiful as her quilt is!
