Party Time Part 2

It's Princess Time!!! Little Alphia (in the front) turned 11 and hosted a princess party for her neighboring princesses and their Queen Mothers. We were taken into the "dressing room" where we donned crepe gowns (made by Alphia's Queen Mother), necklaces, rings and tiaras.

We were then escorted into the throne room where we presented ourselves to Princess Alphia.
Charlotte and I curtsied and presented ourselves as "Princess Charlotte and the Queen Mother from the land of Chartopia".

The games were such fun. We played "kiss the frog", where you pass the rubber frog until the music stops. If you are holding the frog when it does, you are out. It was as much fun watching as it was playing. Here Charlotte and Queen Kathy (our next door neighbor) watched after getting "caught" with the frog.It came down to Alphia and Queen Kathy's Princess Emily.
Princess Emily "won". She gave the frog a little peck and we all whined, "Come on....give it a good kiss." So she did!!! What a good sport! Em got a prize and everyone got their own frog to take home and kiss!!!
Next we played "pin the Princess in the window". Queen Cindy and Princess Emily, trying to pin the Princess in the window.....
I think Charlotte won that one. Next was a cake walk type game. Then came the pinata! Princess Alphia broke it open with one good whack! It contained lots of treats and individual bags for each Princess. It was all wonderful fun and a great time for the Queen's to spend with their Princess's.
The table was set with china tea cups with cute umbrellas in them. Pink lemonade or apple juice was served by Queen Cindy.
All the princess's from left to right...Princess Alphia, Princess Olga (Alphia's best friend), Princess Charlotte, Princess Anya (Alphia's sister), and Princess Emily (lives right in between my house and Cindy's house). All these girls play together regularly.

Princess Alphia served cake to her royal guests.
There was yet another Princess who attended the affair. Presenting Princess Zoey!
Queen Cindy's beautiful granddaughter. Look at that finger curled over her nose. What a darling! It was a royal time! Queen Cindy out did herself.
There is the end of our party weekend. If you missed part 1, scroll down to see TJ's bash!
Now it is back to reality which means school, house, and meal prep.....no fairy godmother around here!!!

Party Time Part 1

TJ's birthday was a blast for him. Here he is on his new ride!
We took him his gift on Thursday, which was his actual birthday. He said, "When I woke up this morning I was 4!!" He had gotten a big boy bed (a full size) and we bought him all new bedding...he is sleepin in style! Emerson was taking a nap, supposedly......I peeked in, cause you know I had too!!!!She promised not to tell!
TJ's birthday party for both sides of his family was on Saturday. My parents, sister, and one of Rachel's aunts were unable to make it because of the flu. Since it was cold and sleeting, we all had to be indoors. It was a bit crowded, but we all had a place to sit and a great time!
Here are a few pics..... Aunt Robin and my good friend Sue (Bud's Godmother) playing with Emerson...

TJ opening gifts.....All the girls in Rachel's family....her grandma, cousins, sister and Rachel's new niece Kiera, (who Rachel is holding), plus Emerson in Rachel's sister, Megan's lap....Emerson liked that baby!
Rachel's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are the nicest people!!
Here are TJ and Emerson with their Great-Grandma (my Mother-in-love). She is a beautiful woman who adores these babies!!All of Rachel's family , and a few of ours have to travel at least an hour, some of them two hours, so every year we have a nice dinner for them of mosticolli, meatballs, salad, and bread, along with some appetizers. It is always a fun time.
We drove home in a sleeting ice storm and were in our jammies by 7pm! I curled up and worked on my sister's quilt. By tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest, I should be on the border!

Today, Sunday, I woke to a blizzard. By 1pm the sun was shining and the few inches of snow, along with the layer of ice, were melting. Still, I stayed in from church this morning. I decided to work on my Peter Rabbit Challenge. I got the top done.

Sorry....can't show you any more than that! It is SO cute! It screams Easter!.....which is when I will be able to reveal it to you. There will be 5 Peter Rabbit quilts revealed on that day. Mine will just be a top, as I plan to hand quilt it, though I think Winona has hers almost completed, hand quilting and all!!

This afternoon, Charlotte and I attended a "Princess Party" for Princess Alphia's 11th birthday. She lives in our cul de sac, and 3 neighboring princess's and their Queen Mother's all attended. I will share pictures of the affair tomorrow....hence the title "Party Time Part 1"....see you then for Part 2.
Be blessed and be a blessing!

Sleepin Over

A few weeks ago, when Charlotte went to the Cirque du Soleil, and then to the ballet, I promised Zach he could have a sleep over. He has been wanting to sleep in his big tent so I told him we would have TJ over and they could have snacks, watch cartoons late, and sleep in a tent in my room. Last Saturday night was the night. Why leave little Emerson out? She came to spend her first night away from mom and dad and sleep over at Grandma's!A blurry picture, but cute! Emerson played with Paw Paw for a while and then went straight to bed by 8 pm. She slept all night for me!!! What a good girl! The boys were excited to help put the tent up.Jammies on, they had a snack of cheese and crackers, made by Paw Paw himself! Then a couple hours of playing and cartoons.....TJ was asleep as soon as the TV went off. Zach, shortly after. Sweetheart slept downstairs....he was smart! I lay in bed listening to my grandson move almost every 30 seconds across that vinyl tent floor! It was LOUD. When he was still, he was grinding his teeth! When he was not grinding his teeth or moving, he was tootin!!! (Poor Zach was closed up in that tent with all those toots!) About 2:30 am Zach crawled out of the tent and asked me if he could please go get in his bed!!! I was not too tired to giggle. About 3 am I finally fell asleep and little Emerson woke me at 6 am through the baby monitor with an adorable chatter. At 7 am TJ came down the stairs wide eyed and bushy tailed, declaring, "Surprise!! It's me, TJ!!"
It was the BEST weekend sleep over ever! Really, I plan to do it more often...only TJ will sleep in Zach's room!
