Father's Day Fun

It was a HOT one! But is was alot of fun. All the kids were here to celebrate Fathers Day and break in the pool. TJ was not thrilled at first, but got use to it and eventually had fun.
Sweet hubby had a good day except that his Cubbies lost, but he received his "new favorite shirt" from his grandson.
I had to buy my own #1 Awesome Grandma t-shirt!!

We have only been Grandparents for a couple of years, but are really good at it!!! ;)
I did get to spend some time on the deck working hand applique on Charlotte's quilt. I can't wait to finish this block as Rose Marie and Linda both gave me new hand applique techniques to try and Charlotte's quilt is a great one to test them both out on. Once the first applique stitch is taken in the Masterpiece, Charlotte's quilt block will become my "take-along" project. I finished an entire flower petal sitting in the doctors off last week. The Masterpiece blocks need my undivided attention and a solid surface for me to work on. Too many pieces and spools of thread to drag out anywhere. Speaking of thread, I am in a frenzy over the number of colors I will need for this block alone. I plan on getting the freezer paper onto the fabrics today and then checking the thread situation. I am sure I will need to get more, as there are so many different values to each color. One block at a time, Bren
This one is for you Linda!!! So, I have all the fabrics picked for block number one and have sorted through others I know I want to add to the next block. I used a light box and marked the actual background fabric, so MAYBE by this evening I will be sewing.

I love it, Bren, I see that floor and know that the creative juices are flowing. I know you'll have a great time with the masterpiece!
