4 Seasons Quilts

It is another miracle!! My Summer 4 Season Quilt Swap is finished and on it's way to it's new owner! This has been a fun swap, but a long one and I committed to every season. I am planning a wall display of the quilts I received and will show it when it is done. In the meantime, here is a recap of the quilts I did for the swap....
FALL

This one is by far my favorite. It is hand applique, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Double cross hatching at that! I would like to re-create this one for myself.

WINTER

I called this one "Snowflake in the Window" It is machine pieced and hand quilted.

SPRING

This one is my least favorite. The colors did not have enough contrast. It is machine pieced and machine quilted (I am a novice machine quilter)

SUMMER

I should have called this "Blinded" as you really need sunglasses!! It is called "Birds on the Lake". It is machine pieced and hand quilted.

If you participated in the 4 Season Swap, show your own 4 Seasons. A big thank you to Margaret, who put this year long swap together. It was a big job, but she did it well.

So what is next on the quilting front? Some old, and some new. I have put a few projects in order of priority. The table runner I showed the other day will get a binding today and be ready to mail out on Monday. I am also planning to "whip up" another version of the same for another young homemaker, so that will be priority.

Same fabrics, different layout. It is still only cut out and I will piece it this weekend.

My granddaughter's quilt is a HUGE priority. I was hand quilting on TJ's quilt in the labor room. I really do not want to be doing that this time. I will have the top ready to hand quilt in the next 2 weeks or before!!!

Another baby quilt of these...it will need to be after Emerson's quilt, but certainly in time for the really cold weather.

And my big winter project will be to finish this Queen size pink and brown quilt! It is an albatross of sorts for me. I just want it done!

I still owe Linda 12, 9 patch blocks. I can whip those up in a Sunday afternoon. (soon)
So there it is. My quilting future. What plans are you making for winter quilt projects?

I want to thank everyone for your beautiful comments and e-mails about Kyle. He is certainly a source of inspiration for all. He is a creative guy too. He "decorated" his lunch box in all his favorite things...Mountain Dew, John Cena (of course), and Center of Hope (his workplace).

Several people have asked for the scripture references I used with Kyle. I planned to post them here, but I think I will e-mail you privately. I am not willing to open myself up to apologetics here, or anywhere for that matter (I am talking for me, personally). It is not my calling to debate, or even discuss doctrine or disagreements. It is my calling to Glorify God in anyway I can, which for me, is to just share my life, the good and the bad. So I leave my blog a place of peace and not debate. I will share this one scripture verse, for anyone suffering with pain, or sickness in your body. There is great hope in it!!! Be Blessed.

"My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh."

Proverbs 4:20-22 (Amplified)

Bren, your quilts are gorgeous. I hope to have the time to learn this beautiful art form one day.

I enjoyed your posts about Kyle, and I too would like the Scripture references, if you have time to e-mail them to me.

They look positively beautiful! I really am going to make a quilted wall hanging for our kitchen this fall. Any suggestions for a very simple one, Bren?

My girls have been admiring the photos of the table runners :)

Have a great weekend. We have a long weekend here. Is it in the States as well?

Hugs,
Niki

I enjoy looking at your projects. You're like me....I have projects in various stages all waiting to be finished. LOL I enjoy hand quilting and would do more if it didn't take forever!!! I will be anxious to see the pink and brown quilt when it's done. That brown fabric is very pretty.
Your blog has become one of my favorites.

thank you Bren for the lovely quilt show and quilting is something I have not tried, but would love to. I have been blogging for awhile but have a pretty plain site, hope to remedy that when we are in Iowa, with the help of my daughter and her friends. I will stop by again, you can do the same. Nana C
