George Nick Kapotas Part 2

Yesterday, I introduced you to George. As amazing as his creations are, he...the man...is even more interesting. I could have listened to him all day. FULL of wonderful information. In the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", the father is always talking about how any word you can think of gets it's origin from the Greek. George does not go that far, but told me that most of our language is Greek. His thick Greek accent, would say..."You just used several words that were from Greek roots. You are speaking Greek everyday and do not even know it." George speaks 4 languages....Greek, English, Spanish, and French. He has dined with royalty and with Presidents. He has many amazing stories to share, but nothing in his life compares to the promise he made to God when he was a boy. He would recreate "The Life of Christ" in sculptures. It is his life's dream fulfilled. Here it is....all statues are life size.
"The Stable" Mary, Joseph, the 3 Wise Men and a 2 year old Jesus. Also, shepherds, and animals. A young Jesus teaching in the temple. See the Pharisees? Young Jesus has His back to the camera in the second picture.

John the Baptist, baptizing Jesus before a crowd. Note the dove on His head.
People have actually come and been baptized in that water.

Jesus begins His 3 year ministry by turning water into wine.Healing the people.Blessing the Children. The Sermon on the Mount.Look who's in the crowd..... Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Please forgive me...in my awe of the actual statues, I did not get Lazarus in the photo. Jesus, Mary and Martha, are facing an actual tomb with a statue of a "mummy" Lazarus standing up. Jesus is calling him forth. Anyway, here is Jesus with Lazarus's sisters.Jesus praying in the garden. Again, I apologize...I did not get a photo of the sleeping disciples.
Jesus carrying His Cross. The crowd of people are very emotional...either sad, or angry. The Roman Soldiers waiting at the top of the hill (again..I did not get a photo) looked hate-filled.The Crucifixion.HE IS RISEN!!!!!The Ascension....We know that is not the end of the story. He will return again someday. On that day, I can't wait to see what He says to George. I am sure it will be
"Well done, my good and faithful servant. Well done."
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. We enjoyed it so much. I am certain it will be a memory for Charlotte and Zachary to take into their adult life. Thank you, Mom, for sharing this wonderful place with us!!
