Mine and Yours

Coleen and I went back to All My Stitches yesterday. What a blast!! I LOVE to watch her spend money!! She dropped $200 on fabrics that were GORGEOUS!!! Best part was she got it all half priced, so it was $400 worth of fabrics!!! It was so much fun going through it all when we got back. She bought for the BOM class we are taking...the star quilt I mentioned. This is the center block we need to do. Coleen picked pastels...beautiful pinks, blues, purples, greens, and creamy backgrounds. I so hope she shows them on her blog. I am staying in my box with this one and using those Civil War colors I love so much...deep reds, navy, brown, gold, and a rich purple. Creamy backgrounds for me too!
Well, I did not spend $200, but I did not come home empty handed either. I got something for me.....More homespuns, and a couple of florals...all fat quarters.
I also got something for you.....These fat quarters will be a great addition to your stash, or make a gorgeous table runner or wall hanging. I had thought I was really close to my 500th post, but I am not. Still, I bought these for you, so I will give them to you now. All you have to do is leave a comment here telling me you want them and I will draw a name next Wednesday, the 28th of January (Why drag it out?). The winner will have a nice piece of All My Stitches Quilt Shop just like me and Coleen!!!!

Bren, what beautiful fabrics! I love them all, but really love, love the one that looks like red raspberries.LOL Please enter me in your drawing. I will try to do a blog post later or in the morning. Can you believe, I left my camera at Cathryn and Jeremy's house? I was really bummed about that, but she called and told me she would ship it to me first thing in the morning. So any posts will have older pictures. I am so glad you and Coleen had fun shopping. Sometimes just seeing and feeling the beautiful fabrics gets us our quilt fix. Right? Have fun in your class. Now I am going to Coleen's blog to see if she posted pictures of pretty fabric too? (grin)Have a great evening. Winona

Are you kidding? Of course, I want them; they are beautiful! And about the comment the other day your "friend" made about not liking your quilts, get a new friend! Love doesn't treat a friend like that. Even if they're not her cup of tea, she should realize the time and work plus it's a part of who you are. Maybe keep her for a friend, but honestly don't show her your quilts - ha!

Well if Nancy thinks she wants them, I think she's forgotten to take her mediacation again, and I hear she did a little bribing. So here's my bribe, Pastors wage.....0...... so I really think they would be much happier and far more comfortable fitting in with the fabrics I have here..... Gorgeous fabrics Bren, and so nice to chat with you again.

Nancy said...

OH!! Funny how a Pastors wage is the same as a SAHM.....LOL

Oh, wait....my eye is twitching again...let me go get my mmmeedddssssss...............

Poor Nancy, we really need to keep her in our prayers that, that eye twitch is healed and that her memory improves so she can continue to take her meds at the right time *s*......Now does that give me another entry?????....lol....

Jeanne said...

Oh, those fabrics are lovely! I would give them a good home. Sounds like a fun time shopping.

Nancy said...

Now listen here Linda....LOL You can't ASK for more entries....Bren has to DECIDE to give you more entries...LOL and she loves me more!! HA HA HA
And the prayers worked and my eye is completely healed and back to normal...now the rest of me will never be normal...LOL

Hi Bren, I have tried to email you several times, and it keeps coming back to me as a failure. I don't know if I have the wrong address, or I'm blocked, or what. I wanted to ask you if you would know how to wash a quilt. I have a very LARGE wedding quilt. There was a deal when I got married where I could send away for it, and they would stitch our names and wedding date on it. It is beautiful, but I have no idea who made it. So if something happens to it, I wouldn't be as heart broken as I would if someone I knew made it. It's 13 years old, and has never been washed. I washed one that my grandma made once, and it literally fell apart in my washer, so I've been afraid to wash this one. I have a new washer now that holds huge loads, and just has a small agitator on the bottom. Do you think it would be safe to wash it in there on a gentle cycle? I figured you would be able to answer this better than anyone else I know..hopefully! Thanks!

Love, Kathryn

Yep, I guess I'm sinning...I would love to have one of your quilts...I'm coveting a quilt by Bren. I will covet a bit more before I repent. ;0)
