This, That, and the Other

Look at "this"! While cleaning out the storage room, I found some old treasures. Above is a piece of my Grandmother's China. I have just enough plates to pass one on to each of my kids. In the meantime, I put one in the treasure box. I remember having holiday meals on that china as a child.
I also found this....I got it at an antique store years ago and it has been packed away for 8 years. In my last home, I displayed my collection of antique kitchen items on the soffits in the kitchen. Here, I decided to go for the clean, uncluttered look. I left most of the antiques packed away, but this one I pulled out for use in my sewing room. It is red with white windmills on the sides. Now on to "that". That quilt! Today was the deadline (self imposed) to have it finished. I came SOOOOOO close. Only a few more of the stars and the quilting is done. Then just to bind it. I have until Easter Sunday, though I really wanted to have this week free from deadlines.
The "other" thing I wanted to share is the beautiful pattern I received in the mail today.
The Nature Of Love by Wombat Designs
Who is Wombat Designs?? My dear friend, Linda! Yep, that Aussie-Okie has her first pattern printed and ready to sell. It is beautiful. I am honored to have been gifted with one as her official "pattern proof reader". Hey, I assure you there are no mistakes!!!! I plan to use the 9 patches that Linda and I swapped. That will make it even more special. You can get your own Nature of Love Quilt Pattern by clicking on the pattern name.
I have a very busy week in preparation of Easter. Not only a big family dinner here, but several special things at church to attend before the weekend.
"For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—
Colossians 1:19-22
May you be reconciled this season.

Love the passage! Hello, I just found your comment on the bee bliss. It was set up wrong and was not showing me that I had comments.

I love your work!
She is going to weep with joy and humility will over power her. That you, should love her so much as to gift her with such an honor of love.

That is so cute, the Love quilt is just adorable. I love that your supporting your friend in this.

Don't you love "shopping" at home? Opening up long packed boxes and being delighted all over again!
Both quilts are so lovely, your hand quilting I so admire. Mine got better after I switched to the #9 needles you recommended but it's still nothing like yours!
I'm wondering if you rec'd my last couple of emails...my email has been acting up.
Hugs and a blessed day
Niki

What a fun thing to find those two treasures packed away! LOVE that old divided box, and what a neat thing to have a use for it where you can see and use it most every day.

The quilt is coming right along and looks beautiful.

You know, I think about you and pray for you each time I wash my dishes now! :) My MIL bought me some Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena dish soap for Christmas, and you were the one that told us about it on your blog. It is by far the most beautiful smell on earth, and I LOVE it. So now when I use it, I pray for you and Charlotte! Have a great week! Love you!

Bren~ Your quilt is just beautiful, and I too like Linda can't wait to see you stitch up her pattern. Your treasures that you found are also beautiful. I have been enjoying this time I have taken off from blogging. I am spending lots of my time in God's word and gleaming much and also working hard on my shambles of a home...it will be looking much better in another week or two.
Blessings,Joann

You are such a great quilter Bren, your stitches are so small and even. Have you posted about the quilt you made for Emerson after you finished it, if you did I must have missed it? Have a blessed Easter with your family.
