Tying Up Loose Ends

School starts here on Monday, and I am spending the weekend tying up loose ends in the lesson plan. Our home school blog will be more active now with lots of pictures and information about our days and what we are learning.

Other ends got tied up this weekend too. I tied the charm quilt for Kyle's teacher and now need to get the binding on. Have you ever tied a quilt? I did, once, 16 years ago. Now I remember why I don't do it more often!
Yes, those are pliers. Sweet Hubby's contribution to helping me tie it! It was an arduous task, but it got done.Once I get the binding on, Kyle will present it to his teacher (she had him for 5 years) and I will post a picture of the two of them.

Toni, my swap partner in the Stitchery swap, received my mini wall quilt. She seemed pleased and so now I can show you the full view.

We are paying for the beautiful weather we had yesterday! Today it is cold and rainy! Very dark and dreary outside. One of those days where you want to sleep. I think I better get up and move around before I go do that!!!

Awesome stitchery...I'm sure she loved it. Your quilt for the teacher is wonderful....what a nice gift. A needle grabber might have made your job a bit easier.

My DIL ties her quilts and I don't think I've ever seen her use pliers. I may have to suggest it to her.

Your day of fishing and stitching looks wonderful.

Thanks for particpating in the Stitchery Swap. Your work is wonderful.

You are so kind to make a quilt for Kyle's teacher. It looks lovely - love the pliers - any tool is the right tool for the job!

It's cold and rainy here too which is GOOD NEWS - the fires are dying down. We've had the windows open all day!

That may well be the first time the words 'quilt' and 'pliers' have appeared in the same post! Well done on your finish Bren :)

Hi Bren, I'm a friend of Margaret's so that's how I linked to your blog. It's an awesome blog and I enjoyed looking at all your wonderful projects.

We also have a Kees. We love her to bits, a great breed for a family with children.

I think you can get "girl tools" these days.......you know, pink pliers etc :)
I bet Kyle is just bursting to hand over the quilt to his teacher.
Bren your little stitchery piece is gorgeous. I love everything about it from the motifs you chose to stitch to it having one of my favourite sayings.

If you think that is bad don't ever tie a denim quilt then. Your fingers will never be the same! Gorgeous charm quilt Bren. I really like it and I love the little stitchery too. Fantastic work! OH and I really laughed at the teacher sign. LOL.

I tied a quilt a long, long time ago. Had no idea what I was doing, but felt certain I was doing it all wrong *s*
