Poor Cinderella. She had such a wicked mother and her sisters were just horrid. How did she turn out so well? Any child treated so badly would be unattached, unlovable, and just as horrid as her step sisters (I may touch on this in detail next month). Well, since it is a fairy tale we will cut her some slack, and take from Cinderella's story some wonderful lessons to be gleaned. First of all her hands were hardly ever idle. The step sisters, however, never did anything but lay around and bark orders. They had ugly souls to match their ugly faces. Can we say "entitlement"?This is what happens to our young girls when responsibility is not taught. Idleness never leads to anything good. Idle hands lead to folly (it is a Proverb somewhere). Well, Little Miss Cinder...I mean Charlotte...has had some idleness going on lately. I took a lesson from Cinderella, and we went to work. Unlike Cinderella, we change out of our floor scrubbing clothes, but we do keep working....
Also unlike Cinderella, Charlotte has a Mommy who worked right along with her. We accomplished much this morning and there was no "folly" to speak of! Everything is sparkly clean and smells wonderful!!

Charlotte, as a blogging friend to your Mom, I just want to say that I'm very proud of you for helping your Mom today! You are a blessing!
Sending many deserved ((HUGS))
Great job Charlotte (and Mum)!! Nothing like the feeling of accomplishment after a hard days work!! U should both be very proud!!!
Bren, that's awesome. I usually have a hard time with the "working alongside" my daughter. Mostly because I like to work alone, and give her jobs that I know she can do without me. I'll endeavor to be more patient. Obviously the rewards are worth the work!
Oh how I love this post!! AND I loved your clean house! There is something about a house in order that sets my soul into a peaceful state of mind!! Beautiful! And oh so true about idleness - even for grown up hands!
Great job ladies! The floors look beautiful, as does the rest of the house!

Nice house! I like your post. When I was a kid it felt like I was being ordered to do things. I like how you said you worked belong side Charlotte. (I wasn't abused and it did me no harm) Even today I don't mind housework so much if my husband is along side me helping. It's when I feel like Cinderella, everyone else at the ball that I hate it! I always think of that saying to myself, "the devil finds work for idle hands."
Bren, your house is shining top to bottom! The crew did a wonderful job of working together.
Nice post Bren!
Loved the photos to help tell the story.
ha! Cute post! My Cinderella is so busy with school and music that she rarely has time to help clean the castle anymore. :-(
It is so much fun to work with them like this, i love it when my daughter and sew/clean together! Well done, where did you lift the pics D!sney pics from? Tracey
