Another Shot

I had another try at Niki's bun recipe, and this time I cut it in half to accommodate my bread machine. I did two batches and the dough turned out wonderful. The buns were perfect! I made sloppy joes for dinner tonight and everyone enjoyed their dinner! The second batch of buns were made a little larger for this purpose. Remember the book contest I told you about the other day? I WON!!! Yippee! WooHoo! I am very excited to receive my autograph copy from the authors. Thanks Stacy and Jennie!

Tomorrow I am having lunch with a friend and doing my grocery shopping. I need to cut my grocery bill in HALF! Let's see how that goes...I also need to pick up the fabric for my apron swap. My partner Hannah is a tiny thing, so I should not need much ;) I will make a full apron for her, but I won't show it until she receives it.

I am trying out some new recipes this next week and some baking will be going on to. My napkins are coming along and the cut squares for the topper are ready to be sewn. Lot's to do this week!!

I love the graphic of the little aprons. I have watermelons in my kitchen so that middle one caught my eye. CUTE!

Glad to hear the buns worked this time. OH the adventures we have in the kitchen, eh?

Dinner looked as if it was delicious. Wish I could have been there!

I have a recipe for sloppy joe meat that a friend shared with me. She always makes a large batch in the oven...then freezes it in small portions for quick meals. I'll have to dig in my messy recipe collection...find it...and share it with you. I've done it several times and it makes the kitchen smell wonderful!

It looks as though you've mastered the recipe for the rolls - they look delish.
I'm waiting for both pattern and fabric before I can start my apron for the swap. I'm looking forward to making it.
Congratulations on winning the book.
