I REFUSE TO BE SICK!
I REFUSE TO BE SICK!
I REFUSE TO BE SICK!!!! Ok, so I am sick. I have been fighting this thing since Sunday. I had a tummy thing that day and by evening my throat was sore. I have just ignored it all week and last night it knocked me on my behind. Today I have NO voice. My children are in heaven! I will prevail!
I have spent much of the day resting. Homemade spaghetti sauce is simmering, but there is no homemade bread to go with it. I have no energy.
This morning I was preparing my second cup of coffee and I threw my spoonful of splenda in the cup. This is what happened.... Awwww...my coffee loves me! Zach was standing there when it happened and says the cup is haunted! I just thought it was cool. One thing that could not be put off today was laundry. I managed to get 4 loads done while home schooling. Don't you think the washboard is wonderful? My sweet father in law gave it to me before he passed away more than 12 years ago. Sweet Hubby's mom used it to do laundry at one time in her life. It hangs in my laundry room, and reminds me of how fortunate I am to have a washing machine. How many of you love table cloths? How many of you love table runners? Well I am a lover of both! I think mixing them is wonderful. A topper on a solid table cloth looks great too. This table cloth is actually a quilt.I LOVE the texture of this 1/8 inch crosshatching and the trapunto. I did not make this. It is machine done, and beautifully exact. It gives a crisp clean look to a table, and the runner warms it up just a little. I really like the look myself.

I hope you are feeling better soon! Your tablecloth/quilt looks very much like Nessa's wedding quilt, although the church ladies hand quilted it, 325 man hours worth!!! It is beautiful. I hope you get a good night's sleep and wake up feeling back to normal tomorrow!

Hope your feeling better soon! Zack's comment about the coffee cup being haunted made me LOL. Funny!
Poor Bren....you need some chicken soup in that crock pot.
how amazing regarding the splenda heart. Hope you feel better soon
Oh, Bren, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope it doesn't last long. The heart in your coffee cup was really neat. The tablecloth is just gorgeous!
Oh, Bren, I hope this is just a minor thing, and you will feel better soon! I love the heart in the cup (what is splenda?).
The table cloth quilt looks wonderful! And the runner on top of it makes it perfect for the table.
I have no idea how many times I've watched Anne of Green Gables over the years - hope you and Charlotte enjoyed yourselves :o)
Poor you - I usually come down with something this time of year so expecting to feel like ploop any day soon. I LOVE Anne of Green Gables !! One of my very favourites. I bought a copy of Fiddler on the Roof this week and need to make time to watch it again. The oldies are the best. Take care !
Bren,
I will pray that the illness passes quickly and the Lord will give you strength to accomplish all that you need to in the meantime!
That heart in your coffee cup - how neat! :-)
Blessings to you this weekend,
Katie

Ugh, I hate being sick. I hope you feel better soon. I love the old washboard and the table cloth is beautiful!
Oh, I'm so sorry you are sick! Get well, my friend! I love the look of your table runner over your tablecloth. I'm looking forward to the time, perhaps right after the first of the year, when I might take your tutorial and make a small topper for myself!
Hi Bren,
I hope you are feeling better soon. Prayers and hugs. I love table runners too. I layer mine like that too. Yours look beautiful.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Sorry to hear you are sick Bren.
The washboard thingy is great so long as I don't have to use one.
I love all kinds of linens the older the better.
Your table looks so elegant.

Oh Bren!!
I sure hope you're feeling better! It's so hard when you're the one sick and still have little ones to take care of. Wish I were there to make you a big bowl of chicken soup and give you a helping hand.
Get better soon.
I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. I'll pray for a quick recovery. At least your fingers work well even if your voice is out - so we can still communicate!
I'm back from my bloggy vacation. Thanks for sticking with me.
Blessings,
Karolee
