Sick Sunday

Zach doesn't feel good. He had a tummy ache the other night and even got in my bed in the middle of the night, but then was fine. Last night, again, he complained of his tummy. He woke up this morning sick. Poor guy gave his Teddy and ear full.... I know...gross, but it is all taken care of. Zach is feeling much better. He has eaten breakfast and lunch (nothing heavy) and kept it down. He is just very clingy. Needs his Mama. Needless to say, we skipped church.

Charlotte is not feeling 100% either, though I doubt it is the same thing Zach has. It is more likely the pop and dozen or more organic chocolate truffles (one of my birthday gifts) that she decided to eat without permission. Her tummy was not responding favorably! She is quietly reading this morning. God bless her! Natural consequences....don't you love it when nature takes care of the discipline for you?? What more could I do to her? I hope she will think twice next time....
We had a death among all this sickness....my garbage disposal died. He was a true and faithful friend to me. He passed away several days ago though I was sure he was just ill and Dr. Sweet Hubby would have the cure. Nope. A trip to Ace Hardware, brought my new friend...
Jenni at Fairybread Quilts wants to know what is in a biscuit...American biscuits are not like your biscuits, Jenni, as like you said, we call them cookies. We make biscuits to go with our meals as fillers (like we need them!) or with butter and jam like your scones. I use a baking mix called Bisquick and add milk. Once mixed I roll them out and cut them in circles with a cookie cutter or glass. When you bake them they fluff up. We love them with gravy. I have only ever made them from a tube until now. Homemade is better! If you go here you can see what exactly is in a homemade baking mix. From what Linda tells me, Aussie's would not like our American biscuits...or maybe it is the gravy...something does not appeal to her.
I had no idea knitting took so long...maybe if I did not have 160 stitches cast on these needles it would go faster.... I am just going to knit and purl this whole skein of yarn and see what happens! Good practice. I finished my apron for the apron swap. It is beautiful!!! I just love it. Very simple but it looks wonderful on. It is only the second apron I ever made and I really like this one better than the first. I may have to whip some up for Christmas gifts ;) As soon as Hannah gets it I will post a pic. I do not want to spoil her surprise. The little checkerboard table topper is done and the tutorial will be up this week. I may do it in 3 different parts. Linda has informed me that when you do a tutorial you need to have clear, sharp photographs. HA!! What does she know??? ;) Now you all know that is impossible with me, right?? Besides, I figured out with my pictures if you squint your eyes just right, they come into focus quite nicely!!

Yummy - biscuits *s* Love 'em with butter and jam or honey, particularly with breakfast. I ignore the directions on the Bisquick box and use buttermilk instead of regular. I think it just adds a little bit extra YUM!

Knitting is relaxing, once you get into the flow of it.
Hope Zach is better, & hope miss naughty Charlotte has learned a lesson!

Hey Bren,

Try holding your breath right before you push the shutter button. That way you don't move while taking the pic,

:-)

Hope the kids are feeling better. Once you get the hang of knitting it does start going faster. I learned to knit last year and have managed to learn to knit a bit faster. Please be very patient.

OOooh -- hope Kyle is feeling better soon. I know there is some viral thing making the rounds -- my little one was out with it on Friday. On the plus side, it seems to have passed quickly!

That recipe is a lot more complicated than how I make them. I will put my recipe on my blog. I have never heard of Bisquick, so have only ever made them from scratch. Thanks for straightening that out Bren, I've always wondered...

Hope the kids are feeling better soon, we have had that sicky thing going around our house also.

I hope Zach is all recovered by now. Stomach viruses are no fun!

For knitting, maybe you could give a dishcloth a try. It goes much faster as you only have to cast on 37 stitches. I can make on in an evening.

Thanks Bren for your sweet comments on my blog posts. I'm sure by now your children are feeling better! You have gotten so many things done lately! Good job!

So sorry about Zach. And poor Charlotte. Those natural consequences can be a bummer! ;)

LOL about the 160 stithces on your needles...yeah, it'll take awhile to knit across a row that length. You know, though, as your skill increases, so will your speed.

I can't wait to see the apron you made.

God bless you, Bren, as you look well to the ways of your household today! ~ Cheryl (Copper's Wife)
