Rainy School Days

It is COLD! I wore socks today. A nice "Autumn Wreath" candle and a cracked window, to let in the crisp air, made the dark rainy day almost welcome.
What do a gum wrapper, corners of a worksheet and a dog-ear have in common? They are all things we use for bookmarks at our house. Today we made "real" bookmarks. No more gum wrappers for us.Other than school, I did get my frig cleaned out. I was not able to get it done the other day...we have had a flu bug here...but today it was finished. I had to put a towel over the light to get a picture. It is so shiny clean that it is blinding! It was a sin how much food I had to toss. I will try to be more frugal next week with the leftovers. I found the latest science experiment in the freezer.Zach is always freezing something! Charlotte is doing her laundry today and has completed her school work for the day. Things have gotten much more peaceful here.
Thank you for your prayers. Also, Scott. No news yet. He is such a fighter, I would not be surprised if he pulled through this one too. He has been given 3 months to live for the last 2 years!
Tomorrow Rachel goes to the doctor. Maaaybe this weekend we will have a baby! That is another prayer request.
Have a blessed evening!!

I guess you had better be careful when you pull something out of your freezer! How funny!

I thought I was the only one who used gum wrappers and expired coupons for bookmarks! I am so glad I am in good company. I may need some of those beautiful homemade bookmarks here too. ;0)

I am sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's husband! How sad! I hope some sort of blessing will come from this.

What a wonderful day it looks like you had the other day though. I love rainy days. I liked them more before I had kids, because now they get very antsy when it is rainy and they can't go out and burn off some steam!

Today, we are having a TV/computer day. There are a few programs on TV that I am having the 9yo watch and write a couple of sentences on what he learned, then math on the computer.

I have my quilt mostly done. I might need you to help me put it together though. I just have the borders to finish, the backing, the edge stuff, then I guess I have to baste it and decide how to quilt it. I am going to quilt it by hand....which I don't have time for right now, I am making a baby afghan for a friend who is having her first little girl this fall (she has 4 boys too). So much fun using pink yarn! I'll let you know when I get back to my quilt. I am sure you can give me some pointers!

Again, I am very sorry to hear about Scott's passing. Praise the Lord that they had two years with him when the doctors said they wouldn't have 3mos! I'll keep the family in my prayers!

Blessings
Monique
