May Day

Happy May Day!!!! Even though it is rainy and dreary, there are many Spring flowers blooming around here. I can't wait to plant my annuals!
My day off was filled with work. It is ok though. I made Dani's Cinnamon Rolls...a 4-5 hour process, but SOOOO worth it! Today is Pastor Paul's birthday so I made a tray of rolls to take to the church office and one for my family. This pan is fresh out of the oven. I frosted them with Dani's Cream Cheese Frosting. They are sinful...a whole pound of butter in these things, but you will NEVER taste anything better in your life!
Don't forget to put on your apron....I forgot!I had to run to the store to pick up a couple of things to make the rolls, so I swung into the Christian Bookstore across the street. I have been wanting a new Bible and since it was on sale, I finally went and got it.It is not a study Bible, though I have a wonderful Study Bible already. It is the ESV version and is a thinline so it carries in my purse! It does have nice size print (not that teeny tiny print) and a nice concordance in the back. I am really excited to start reading it. I have done several Read Thru The Bible programs, but while reading a post from Susan, I followed a link to a program she is doing. I found a Chronological year long program. I have never read the Bible in chronological order before. I am really thrilled. You can choose the 1st or 15th day of any month to start and print out the program. I am starting today.

I also picked up the Masterpiece block again. I really want to create this quilt and got very frustrated. I chose one of the most difficult blocks as my first. Still I will re cut some of the smaller pieces and baste them first. I was trying to needle turn a pea sized applique piece! It is almost finished and another started soon. For those of you who love applique, I am sure you know of my applique hero Elly Sienkiewicz!
I am using her designs and tweaking them a little to make them my own.
I have the Peter Rabbit quilt in the hoop and am making great progress. It is a year of many deadlines. I am excited by the challenge!!
Make sure you do something you love today!

You forgot to put on your apron?????? heeheehee.....

Dani will be making her scrumptious cinnamon rolls for me on Mother's Day. Your post makes me miss her. She left yesterday and won't be home until the 8th.

Those cinnamon rolls look dangerous! LOL Enjoy your new Bible-reading schedule. I think it's neat that you can start almost any time, not just on Jan. 1.

Bren, thank you so much for posting that link to a Bible reading schedule. I love it. I have already read today's lesson and have saved the list in my favorites. I have never read the Bible through in this order. I am very excited about it. I also wanted to tell you just how much you had me drooling while looking at those cinnamon rolls. Those look so delicious. Since I am not supposed to eat things like that, I will not even ask for a recipe. I know I could not resist them. (grin) Your new Bible sounds great. Have a great day. Winona

Thanks so much for the link to the Bible reading schedule. I've read through it in chronological order before, but never following a program.

I'm excited to get home and get Gen. 1-3 read!
