Fall Decorating

It is finally September! I love Autumn. Yes, I realize it is still summer...my family reminded me of that yesterday as I put up Fall decorations. There is just something about September. It feels like the start of something new. It could be the new school year, but my friend Amy told me it is actually the Hebrew New Year. Maybe that is it. Anyway it is a time for me to set new goals for the year. This year is very different from any other year. There are no new weight loss goals, homemaking goals, or financial goals. Only ONE goal....PEACE. That is the goal. Peace.
I put up some fall pretties around the house. Just a few odds and ends to make it feel more in the season than the 90 degree heat from yesterday.
Before we hung the fall "Welcome" sign on the front door, Zach and I cleaned the front porch. It is the area we focus on during the first week of the month anyway. It was much needed.
We left this little guy alone....
There are still some things we need to add, but for now, this will do.
Sweetheart had 2 days off in a row. It was so nice. We had a quiet Monday. The kids came for a cookout and we had burgers, brats, and hotdogs cooked on the grill. All the kids...Bud, Rachel, Kyle, Charlotte, Zach, and TJ had a huge water fight in the backyard. I would have taken pics, but I just could not watch. The few seconds I peeked out had me a mess...I kept telling everyone to be careful of Rachel. It made me a wreck!! All ended well and they were cooled off and tired when they went home.
Zach made friends with a cricket.
And a little frog named Toady.
HEY!!! That is one of my good tupperware containers!!
Today is a day of homeschool and homemaking. Sweetheart and Kyle are off to work. Kyle will be pleased with his lunch today...his favorites.
Cheesy pizza rolls, yogurt, and diet dew.
I plan to clean out the frig today...
A deep clean is not scheduled until next week, but it is too bad to wait. Schedules are good, but we need to do what needs to be done. This job can not wait. Now it is time for a refill on my coffee and to start our Bible lesson for the day. Our Bible lessons are never boring. Charlotte and Zach keep things exciting. Last week we were reading in Proverbs 27. I read aloud and we discuss it. I read verse 15, which says,
"A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike."

I started putting out my fall decorations too. I have one more box I need to go dig out today. I keep thinking it is Monday. Confusing. It is only supposed to be in the 70s here all week after a very hot weeekend! Cute toad Zach found. My fridge looks just the same, but I am taking a break from reading a chapter on statistics that is way over my head. I need to get back to it. Funny about last weeks Bible lesson. My kids would say the same. Not about you. About me.

The cooler weather has me itching to decorate for fall as well.

I trolled the city for hay bales and pumpkins for my front porch yesterday, but there were none to be found just yet.

Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.

OUCH huh? :) Out of the mouths of babes. Did you know SHILOH means place of peace? that is what I crave my home to be known as, but we are far FAR from it right now :) I'm trusting though. xoxo melzie

I am also ready for the Autumn weather and colors to arrive. It's still very hot where I live but I can tell that the weather will be cooling sonn since the leaves are turning red already.

I am looking forward to finding a new door hangin to hang at our front door. I am waiting to find something second hand. Your door hangings are very lovely.

Have a great day.

Sept. is my New Year's. I haven't put out any of our decor yet, it's still so hot here, I'll wait a little yet. I love the fireplace, it looks just right.

Hi Bren,
Thank you for your message. Can you do me a favour please and try and email me again, I sent you an email I think yesterday or was it Sunday - that sounds bad. I do know you are very busy by the way but I will try and email you again later if not then I will do it tomorrow. My alternate email address (which may be easier) is desert_streamsuk@yahoo.com.

Also, I hope the package was not too expensive to mail out, please can you let me know. I know here that postage has gone up quite a bit and I have no idea if this is the same in the USA.

Speak to you soon
Hugs big time

I thought about bringing some fall decorations out too, but it is just to hot right now for me to get in the mood! I bought a few fall fabrics today - does that count?

LOL! Little Zach ... how funny!

Your house looks beautiful, Bren. I wish I had your eye and way of decorating.

Spring used to be my favorite but a couple years ago I just fell in love with fall (maybe because we were living in Washington state). Such a beautiful time of year!

I'm starting to decorate for Fall, too! I love your pumpkin welcome sign on the door! Adorable!!!

I did a porch cleaning myself yesterday and was looking in the fridge today thinking it's time for a deep cleaning. Why is it that no one ever wipes up a spill when it happens? *sigh* Oh well.

Have a fantastic week! God bless you ~ Julie
