It's Me Again!

It's me again!!! Three posts in one day. That is a record for me, though one was to announce the book drawing winner and one was a Galena post...this one is to record, for posterity, my day. It was a doozey! Busy from the time my feet hit the floor this morning until now, when I just finished tucking kids in bed. I did my morning routines, got Kyle and Sweetheart out the door, and got the kids fed and going on school. I had a breakfast of macaroni salad. I immediately got my swiss steak floured and browning in the skillet. I skipped this step once and it was no where near as good. Onions and garlic chopped and minced, sauce made and all thrown in the crock pot!I ran upstairs and changed the sheets. Grabbed a load of laundry (all three baskets were over flowing!!!), ran back downstairs, put laundry in and whipped up some cookie dough while putting the ingredients for bread in the machine.Rachel and TJ came to play...it was gorgeous outside. I quickly put her to work cutting strawberries. She is such a help. The other night she cleaned the entire kitchen up after dinner! What a blessing that was. Here she is chopping and visiting with her sweetheart. He gets his Semi truck on Tuesday! He has been on the road and will be home soon. With all this cooking, browning, chopping and mixing, there were lots of big bowls and skillets to be hand washed. I was out of dish soap!! Oh NO! I found several "empties" under the sink. I do this on purpose. They all had a little bit in each and if you mix them with water you get suds!Kitchen cleaned, and cookies baked....It was time for lunch. The kids ate on the deck with a friend (not pictured).TJ's lunch is sitting there, but where is he???Playing with Mommy in the sand box! I went to vacuum the upstairs rooms and the staircase. The stairs were really bad! Not the day it is scheduled, but I do not hold my schedule so tight that things get overlooked. Last Friday when it should have been done, I did something else. Kyle had the day off of work, the kids were still off of school so we had a play day! Soooo, I tackled the staircase today. I also vacuumed the downstairs, as sand was being tracked in everywhere. I stopped for a cup of coffee, using my cup with my name on it, in case I forgot who I was....yes, I felt that busy!!By this time laundry had been washed, dried, folded and put away, several times over. I even washed the powder room rugs. Here they are hanging on my "clothes line".Prayer request: I want clothes lines! Sweetheart does not like the look of them in his yard. Pray his heart will change. I do not badger him, or nag about it, but I will ask every year or so. Maybe this year he will say yes! Our yard is open as we live on the corner, so everyone sees our back yard. Anyway, I want clothes lines!
Eventually all the baskets were emptied. No dirty clothes in the house...for a few hours anyway!Sweetheart needed a pair of Dockers pressed, so I handled that. He likes crisp creases...I love starch!!Potatoes were peeled, boiled and mashed. Bread was baked and a veggie was prepared. I fixed a plate for Sweetheart as he would be home late. Rachel and TJ headed home, tired and dirty, just the way it should be! The deck was a mess!!! Sand, twigs, and gold fish crackers were everywhere. A quick vacuuming was needed.Note to self: Do not wear black skirt while vacuuming. I can not count how many times today Hazel tried to eat my skirt while using the attachments! The table was sticky and needed to be cleaned also. The deck is all ready for tomorrow...another beautiful day is in the forecast! It is getting dark by this time. Kids are getting showered and the kitchen is calling my name.I have several large pots and the crock pot to wash and now I am really out of dish soap. Wait...I see one more under there...JACKPOT!! This one doesn't even need water added to it. I guess a trip to the store is needed for more dish soap! I think I will borrow some from Rachel until my scheduled trip. Everything is done. Kids are tucked in bed. Sweetheart is watching the Cubs game with a full tummy while munching on chocolate chip cookies. Coffee is made and the timer is set for 5 am tomorrow and new dish towels are laid out.Now that all of this is done, what will I do tomorrow???? I guess I will just have to play with these! There is a method to my madness!!!!!

You are so good to take your camera around on your busy day. Blogs certainly give a fun spin on the everyday normal things of life, don't they?

Busy, busy...

Tell your husband that you can extend the life of your clothes dryer by many years if you give it days off and use a clothes line. It's true!

Good Luck!

I do the same thing with my dishwashing liquid. :)

Your pics remind me that I have laundry waiting to be put in the dryer and dishes waiting to soak.

That Seventh Generation Lavender soap is my favorite . . . oh it just smell so good when it's bubbling up with hot water in the sink. Like a spa treatment while you are washing dishes *S*
