Old New Friends

Words can not describe the wonderful time I had on Friday with Niki and Rob!! When they pulled in the driveway we immediately embraced each other like we were family. A definite connection...a sister thing. My face still hurts one day later from smiling so much. It could not have been better if I dreamed it. We had a lovely dinner and Niki and Rob brought gifts for everyone. Niki made my new to be granddaughter, Emerson, the most beautiful afghan. Rachel loves it! How special and thoughtful! They brought TJ a Thomas the Train puzzle, but better than that, "Robin" (which is what TJ calls Rob) helped him put it together. They are friends forever! TJ was asking for Niki and Rob last night after they left!

The kids spent most of the day outside in the water, which is why TJ is not fully clothed. ALL the guys got Canada ball caps! My guys always have a cap on, so they were thrilled. And Charlotte received the Anne of Green Gables collection. She is so excited to start it....me too! And look at this....Niki made me the most gorgeous shawl....it is SO soft.
She will still be hugging me when I wear it this fall and winter. Shoot! Sweetheart keeps the air on to the point where I will be using it during the summer even!
We did not get alot of pictures because we were just too busy visiting and enjoying each other. Rob cooked the meat on the grill...his forte, and it was excellent. We had a nice dinner, a cup of coffee and some "live blogging" going on. That is what Sweetheart called it!
I was able to see pictures of Jen's wedding and lots of pics of Henry. TJ and Zach helped by taking turns pushing buttons on the laptop.Rob shared some landscaping, and gardening tips with us. He is very gifted in this area! The pictures of the gardens he created are wonderful.
I will tell you, I was more than excited and, though I have "known" Niki for almost a year, a little nervous about meeting someone from the blog world, but I would do it again in a heartbeat (at least with Niki and Rob). It was a wonderful experience and I feel blessed to have been able to embrace my old, new friend in more than just a cyber (((hug)))!!!
I am sure Niki will share her experience as well. I hope it was as good as mine!!!!

When we on the couple of main Aussie quilting groups get to have a visit from an online but unseen friend, these are termed axe murderers as the teen age children of the ones coming visiting are always cautioning their parents that they cannot just go and stay with people they have not met.
However we have all survived and many happy friendships have grown closer for having met face to face.
Sounds like you guys had a ball.

Oh we did have such a wonderful day. I'll cherish the memories of our visit! I couldn't believe the time when we left, it flew by so fast. We are "sisters of the heart" for sure,my friend, and remember, now it's your turn to take the long drive and I promise to use the good china ;)

Hey Bren. Thank you for your kind words. BTW, I have posted the recipe for my meatloaf previously on my blog. Whenever you visit my blog look on my left sidebar for a google search box. Use it to search all of my past blog by using the keyword 'ground turkey'.

You will get a list of all of my post about ground turkey.

I use the same recipe for my meatloaf cups as I do for my meatballs.

Once the meatloaf is done I usually add a sauce such as gravy, bbq sauce of homemade spaghetti sauce.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Beautiful gifts from Niki.
Sounds like a sweet friendship has gone to another level - beyond blogging. How fun to actually meet each other.
