Veterans Day Memorial

Today, Veterans Day, we buried a member of our family. My children knew him as Grandpa Duane. You have heard me mention my Mother-in-love....she is Sweetheart's birth mother. Sweetheart was adopted within his birth mother's family. No mother ever loved her son as much as Diane loved Sweetheart. She was in his life from infancy...his whole life, and has been such a beautiful Grandma, especially to my older boys. Her love, Duane, passed away quietly in his favorite chair last Friday. It was fitting for him to be buried on Veterans Day, as he was a Veteran. The heart-wrenching presentation of the flag to my Mother-in-love, the 21 gun salute, and the taps played on the bugle were an honor paid to Grandpa Duane for the time he served our country. Please pray for Diane, and for my boys, as they will miss Grandpa terribly.

Praise that his home going was so easy for him. May God comfort you, your MIL and his family as they adjust to this empty place in your lives.
