Sweetheart Surprise

(My favorite picture of my Mother and I)
Every year, about a week before my birthday, Sweetheart will ask what I want. This year, he did not. I knew he was terribly busy with his job. He is now working a full 6 days a week for at least 60 hours. I knew my birthday was not in his view, and to be honest, it was no big deal. Last night he came home from work, tired, hungry and ready to relax. When he came in the door, he saw this....A new electric broom...which I LOVE, by the way! My mom had stopped over to bring me birthday gifts. She also gave me a new digital scale...God love her...so I could have an exact weight instead of taking the best out of 3 on my almost 30 year old bathroom scale. He also saw this on the counter.... A book of Amish quilting, crocheted dishcloths, a set of 8 fall coasters, and a birthday card from Winona.
Sweetheart looked a bit confused when I answered his question of where it all came from. I told him my mom brought gifts by for my birthday, and about the package I had received in the mail.
"Your birthday?"
"Yes, Sweetheart, it is tomorrow."
"Really? Gosh, I guess it is tomorrow.", said with a look of regret.
I told him not to worry about it and that I knew how stressful things had been for him.
This morning I got up at 4:30, went down to grab a cup of coffee (already brewed since I had not reset the timer for the time change) and on the counter was this....That stinker had not forgot my birthday at all!!!
Inside was a "new" antique tea cup for my collection. It is a beautiful pink with roses on it.And tucked in the bag was this cream and sugar set in rainbow glass....It perfectly matches the tea cup he bought me for Mother's Day.See why I call him Sweetheart??!!

Happy Birthday and many, many blessings, Bren!!! How fun that we share the same birthday! I can't think of anyone I'd rather share it with. :o)

What lovely gifts! The electric broom looks like something this girl could use! I love teacups, too, and your new one is beautiful. Your one from Mother's day is beautiful, too, and now you have a set! What a great hubby!

I haven't opened my gifts yet. I have them sitting on the bed ready to open later. I'll post pictures, though!

Have a wonderful day! Happy Birthday!

God bless you - Julie

P.S. I don't think you have any years on me at all. I'm 47 today. *sigh*
