The Weekend in Review

How was your weekend?? Mine was busy!!!! It actually started on Friday. I went to the mall....which I HATE!!! and got a new outfit for a special occasion. Rachel and I walked into a store called Chicos. Immediately, a sales girl came up and said "Do you understand our sizing?" We told her no, it was our first time in her store. "Oh.", she said. "Let me explain. Our largest size is 3 and that stands for a 12-14" OK. So there stands Rachel...prego!! and me...larger than a 12-14, for sure. I kindly told her we would be back after my granddaughter was born, and I dropped several pounds!!! I think she wore a size 0 (which would be a 4-6 in her store)!!
So I waddled down to Lane Bryant where a 14 is actually a bit loose!! WOOHOO! for fat lady store sizing!! Here was the final outcome.Simple, but classy! What was the occasion????Sarah got married. My Aunt Robin's daughter. For those of you who don't remember or are newer to my blog, my Aunt Robin lived with us while growing up and is not much older than me. She is more like a sister. Her children are the same age as my older kids, so they are more like my nieces and nephew. Sarah's dad, my Uncle Bob, was killed in a vehicle accident 6 years ago. Her little brother Robbie, walked her down the isle and gave her away. It was very touching and bittersweet. Sarah and Matt had a beautiful wedding! This is Meghan, Sarah's sister. Robbie is standing behind her with his hand up by his face. He looks SO much like his dad. His father would have been very proud of him.(Not many of my pics turned out) Here is the bridal party dancing at the reception....Sweetheart and I danced too. Here is a blur of us...
I also danced with my father and my son, Bud, so it was a perfect evening. Only one goof...I wanted a plain salad with no dressing, so I asked a man I thought was a staff at the restaurant. Simple mistake as he was going from table to table letting people know it was their turn at the buffet. It ended up being the D.J. I was so embarrassed, but he DID get me a plain salad!!!
Here are Bud and Rachel all ready for the reception. Bud had already taken off his tie and untucked his shirt...he was not putting it back on for me! Isn't Rachel's hair cute!!!!While sitting in the actual wedding service, I got to feel Emerson kick!! Yes, my granddaughter finally has a name. Emerson Avery Haws. She has a very dainty kick!
Sweetheart and I can clean up pretty nice too!
We had my friend come sit with the kids. TJ was here too, so the 4 of us could all go out for an evening. It was very nice. Home before midnight and I slept til 9:00. It felt sinful, but a great catch up on my missed sleep.

I had a great Sunday. All the kids gave Dad his gifts and cards. Along with celebrating Father's Day, Sweetheart and I tackled a BIG project!! There is no "relaxing" for that man. I will share on Tuesday. I think I will be picking up Tackle It Tuesday again for a while. It seems things have gotten away from me again. All my dailies and quarterlies are getting done, but those things that need to be done every 6 months or so....well, you know. PLUS I need to get ready for Niki!!! I am counting the days!

Here is a pic of TJ for you....he is walking in his Daddy's shoes!

You look beautiful, Bren! I love Rachel and Bud's picture ... she's so pretty - the haircut really brings out her face.

I know what you mean regarding the store! UGH! Real nice, huh? Would've been better, perhaps, to let you browse - for all she knew you could've been there shopping for someone!

Looks like you had a really good time. You and your husband look so nice together. Enjoy and don't let sizes get you down. I hate shopping for the same reason. Life happens.

I only shop for clothes when absolutely necessary until I loose some weight. It's so demoralizing. The outfit you picked looks great.
I love the name Emerson. Beautiful name for a little girl.

I love the pic of you and Kim dancing, it's lovely. The outfit looks great too!

You don't have to do anything to get ready for me....except maybe have the coffee on and time to chat!!! I'm really looking forward to it too!

Emerson Avery...what a beautiful name. Now as I'm crocheting the afghan, I can pray for her by name :)

Hugs
Niki

I hate shops like that, i.e. when the sales girls come to you and say "we don´t have anything in your size" and they are son thin that you can hardly see them! You all look so handsome and HAPPY.

Oh, what fun! I have bought a few things at Chico's on sale. They are a little expensive for me otherwise. This Spring I bought a black valour pant suit and two red valour tops. I wear a size 14 and theirs is a little big so I think you'd have been alright. I think it was wrong of the salesgirl to treat you that way. Where do these size 0 women come from?

Bren, I love your dress! I was once looking at pants in the petite section of the store when a clerk came up and informed me "I was in the petite area" like I didn't belong there. It was all I could do to smile and say, "Yes, I know." You and your DH take a lovely photo.
