Winter Flimsey

My weekend plans did not come together quite like I planned. I did get going on the tea towel and today I cut and pieced the winter edition of the 4 season swap. I really loved working with those blues and white. Surprising!! Here are some fence rails...

Some 1/2 square triangles:
and some 9 patches: I had never worked with such tiny squares before. For those who do not quilt, these 9 patches are made up of 1 inch squares. You can get a better idea of the size by the dime in the center square. Here is the finished top: The right side looks a little off because the ceiling fan was blowing. Also, the print in the navy does not show up, and it really is beautiful. I am very happy with the top. Now I need to decide if I am going to quilt a motif in the middle or put the embroidery there. Hmmmm. I will hand quilt it, so I better decide quick!!!!
Back to school tomorrow. I did not get the planning done, so we will play math jingo and read together in the morning. I will then do the planning and we can do science and social studies in the afternoon. I will either baste or embroider the flimsey and get the quilting going. Talk to you soon!!!

Very pretty Bren, and I love the blues. I do not like making the small blocks. You did a great job.

Such tiny little pieces, but a good way to get a quilt finished, make them smaller.
I need help I can't figure out how to pass on the "Your blog is a Treasure" this blogging is sometimes a mystery to me. Happy Quilting!

That is a lovely block you have made there!
Your school terms, or whatever it is you call them, (semesters?) must be very differnt to ours.
The children are not back to school here yet & the Christmas break is the longest one in our school year.
My little SG is off to 'Big school' this year, so we will know about it, when he goes off.

What a gorgeous little quilt - love those blues.
I adore little things but have to agree they are harder to work on.
